Boatnik Parade Theme "Anyone can be a superhero for kids!"
This year we will have a float in the Boatnik parade and we need dancers to walk alongside our wonderful float promoting our June Pinocchio show!
NO BALLET SLIPPERS!
We start at D St. and walk all the way to Evergreen Federal Bank on SE Voorhies way. It's recommended to wear comfortable shoes for the journey. Sunhats, sunglasses, and sunblock is recommended if weather was like last year. If you have a wagon and would like to tow your child, this is totally fine! Parents please wear a Heartland T-shirt. Dancers will be allowed to wear their choice of past costume.
NO CURRENT YEAR COSTUMES ALLOWED.
(Only lead characters will be allowed to wear their current costume.)
If you need help finding a costume, we have plenty to choose from. Please contact Laurel, our dance manager if you need a costume. Laurel@heartlanddancestudio.com
Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet please note this parade is many blocks from the Dutch House ALL the way to Evergreen Federal Bank. That’s eleven blocks!
Bringing strollers or some other type of wagon is suggested.
Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hydration and water supply will be key to successfully making to the end!
"From the Heart"
Please note the new date for our annual studio gathering. This was updated in order to minimize conflicts due to the Holiday season.
Building new traditions and bringing students of all levels together!
Heartland will be hosting this event on:
Saturday January 12th, 2019.
This is a studio-wide gathering; all students and parents are strongly encouraged to attend! No Public Attendance
Here are a few things that will be covered during this event;
1: Discuss our performance rules, touring the facility and talking about volunteer roles.
2: We’ll be introduction lead roles and characters for our production of Pinocchio.
3: Introducing our Instructors and what pieces they’ll be choreographing in our production.
4: Introducing our Board of Directors and production team.
5: Supplying information about our sponsorship program.
6: Each class will demonstrate dance combinations highlighting what they've been learning in their level. This is partly for parents to see the improvement in their child’s technique. This also creates an opportunity for lower level to see and be inspired by the upper levels.
